For the third consecutive day, Atlantic County health officials are reporting no additional deaths related to COVID-19. The total number of countywide deaths remains 224.
There were 18 more residents who tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday and 13 positives reported on Sunday.
Saturday’s totals include positives tests for seven men, ages 26-77, and 11 women, ages 29-75. Four of Saturday’s positives were found in Absecon, three in Atlantic City and two each in Hammonton and Pleasantville. Several communities had one new positive: Buena Vista Township, Egg Harbor City, Egg Harbor Township, Folsom Galloway Towship, Hamilton Township and Margate.
On Sunday, positives were reported for six males ranging in age from 17-65, while seven females were between 8-71 years of age. The confirmations were found as follows: five in Pleasantville, two each in Hamilton Township and Ventnor, and one each in Buena Borough, Margate, Mullica Township and Northfield.
Today’s cases bring the countywide total to 3,230 positives with 1,819 residents having been cleared as recovered.
Atlantic County will continue to provide COVID-19 testing at its drive-thru facility in Northfield at Rt. 9 and Dolphin Avenue, behind the county public works yard. The test site is now available for both symptomatic and asymptomatic county residents with or without a doctor’s prescription. Residents must make an appointment for testing and provide proof of county residency and appointment confirmation.
Atlantic County has tested more than 2,300 residents through its testing facility with 78.3% testing negative for COVID-19.
Testing will next occur on Tuesday, July 21, however, barring any cancellations, all slots have been filled. Testing has also been announced for Tuesday, July 28 and appointments are available and can be made online at www.aclink.org. Those who are unable to keep their appointments are asked to cancel so others may have an opportunity to fill those spots.

County health officials encourage residents and visitors to follow the recommended federal and state guidelines to help reduce the spread of Covid-19 by wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and hygiene protocols such as frequent handwashing and disinfecting common-touch areas. Those who are sick and have symptoms of Covid-19 or respiratory illness are advised to self-isolate and contact their healthcare provider.
The state Department of Health is also now advising those who get tested to limit interaction with others while awaiting test results. On average, it is now taking about 5-7 days for labs to provide results due to the growing demand for testing as spikes in cases continue throughout the country.
