Meeting announcement.

LONGPORT – The Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 at Longport Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave.

The purpose of the meeting is to award bids for planned public projects, including reconstruction of Atlantic Avenue from 32nd Avenue to the Margate City border, sidewalk construction and HVAC improvements to the Police Department.

The roadwork is part of the borough’s 2019 NJ DOT-funded road improvement program.

To ensure safe access for pedestrians, the borough plans to construct sidewalks on certain streets.

Additionally, an outside contractor has recommended upgrades to a portion of the HVAC system in the Police Department that has reached the end of its life expectancy. Work includes replacing ductwork and valves that regulate air flow and temperature in various rooms, including the police evidence room and computer room.

The borough is slated to accept bids for these public projects 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Social distancing and face coverings are required in Borough Hall.
