Enlightened Farm in Galloway Township displayed pumpkins at the next-to-last farmers market in Ventnor.

VENTNOR – Hundreds of shoppers flocked to the second-to-last farmers market of the summer was held at St. James Church parking lot Friday. Next week’s event, 8:30-noon, Friday, Sept. 3 will be the final market of the season.

As the summer season draws to a close on Labor Day weekend, the Margate Community Farmers Market at Steve & Cookies By The Bay on Amherst and Monroe avenues, will also hold its final market 8:30-noon, Thursday, Sept. 2. However, in past years, Margate holds a one-day farmers market in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Both markets offer the freshest produce and seafood grown and caught in New Jersey, and hand crafted food items, such as jams, pies, homemade pasta and sauces, along with some unique craft items.
