EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – He’s one lucky fella, much like his dad.

Commissioner Lance Landgraf experienced a once-in-a-lifetime victory Saturday, Oct. 2 when he hit a hole-in-one during the Ventnor City Beach Patrol’s annual golf tournament held at McCullough’s Emerald Links Golf Course in Egg Harbor Township.

Landgraf achieved the milestone on the 113-yard, 16th hole using a gap wedge and an MG golf ball. Beach Patrol Lt. Pat Finnerty witnessed the hold-in-one.

“It was very exciting to get my first hole-in-one,” Landgraf said. “I knew it was a good shot when I hit it. When I got to the green and didn’t see my ball, my heart jumped. When I saw the ball in the hole, I screamed.”

Landgraf said the first thing he did was call his dad.

“He taught me to golf when I was 12, and he called me when he got his hole-in-one a few years ago. It was great sharing that memory with him,” Landgraf said.

Landgraf celebrated with Ventnor Lifeguards Dan Shaw, Mike McMenamin and Charlie Buckley at Vagabond Kitchen and Tap House.

He celebrated afterward with Ventnor Lifeguards Dan Shaw, Mike McMenamin and Charlie Buckley at Vagabond Kitchen and Tap House, which is located on the golf course.
