Meeting change

VENTNOR – With the announcement yesterday that Gov. Phil Murphy’s budget address is being delayed two weeks, the Ventnor City Board of Education will also rechedule its next meeting.

The governor’s address preceeds the annoucment from the NJ Department of Education on how much state aid will be sent to local school districts for the 2022-2023 school year.

According to Board Secretary Terri Nowotny, the board will will not be able to approve its budget on March 2 as originally planned.

“Therefore, we will be cancelling the March 2 meeting and reinstating the Feb. 23 meeting.  Once the state releases the new budget timeline, we will schedule a special meeting to approve the budget,” she said in a statement to Downbeach.com.

The board’s next meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23 in the auditorium of the Ventnor Educational Community Complex, 400 N. Lafayette Ave.

Action will be taken.
