LONGPORT – The Borough of Longport will be flushing fire hydrants Monday through Friday, April 4-8.
Conducting flow tests allows the Longport Volunteer Fire Department to ensure hydrants are in proper working order while providing flushing of the water distribution system.
Residents should not be alarmed if a discoloration of tap water occurs as this condition is not harmful and will dissipate in a few hours. Residents should avoid washing laundry, especially white loads, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. throughout the testing period.
