Provided/The 12th annual Seashore Gardens Run & Health Walk featured participants of all ages, including an 85-year-old runner who finished ahead of many of his younger contemporaries.
ATLANTIC CITY – Nearly 300 people gathered on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in front of Stockton University Sunday, April 10 to run or walk in honor of a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia. It was the 12th annual Seashore Gardens 5K Run & Health Walk, held in person for the first time in three years, and it netted a record $25,000 for dementia and Alzheimer’s programs and outreach for residents and families at Seashore Gardens Living Center.
“Our residents may not remember, but we will not forget them,” Director of Donor Services and Public Relations Sharon D’Angio said. “We run and we walk to ensure that they have the programs in place for quality of their life.”

Starting and ending at Stockton’s beachfront campus, the event featured participants of all ages. There were young families with toddlers in strollers, groups of coworkers, competitive runners, and seniors up to age 85, all with a connection to Alzheimer’s.
The winner of the 5K was Colten Angellotti of Voorhees, whose grandfather had suffered from dementia. Amy Balash of Elmira Heights, New York, was the top female finisher. Her grandmother had Alzheimer’s. The top fundraising team was Roth-Goldstein’s Memorial Chapel. The largest team was Team Rehab Heart and Sole.

Special guests included Mistress of Ceremonies Robin Stoloff, Miss Cape Shores Molly Marie Pugliese, and Miss Atlantic County Brooke Feldman. Scott Brown Insurance Agency and Stockton University were presenting sponsors. A long list of sponsors and individual donors contributed to this successful event.
The Simon & Sylvia Zisman Seashore Gardens Living Center is a nonprofit home for the aged, guided by Jewish tradition and dedicated to enriching the quality of life for its residents.
