MARGATE – The city has extended its grace period for payment of quarterly real estate taxes that are normally due on Aug. 1.

After receiving this week the certified tax rate for 2022 from Atlantic County government, the city is currently processing tax bills for the final quarter of 2022 and the 2023 preliminary tax bills. Tax bills will be mailed to residents by Aug. 15.

The city has extended the grace period for taxes normally due on Aug. 1 to Sept. 16 with no penalty. However, taxes received by the city after Sept. 16 will be subject to accrued interest dating back to Aug. 1.

Due dates for quarterly taxes due on Nov. 1, and Feb. 1 and May 1, 2023 have not changed, and will include the customary 10-day grace period.
