Historic Organ Restoration Committee is offering tours and free recitals at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall through Dec. 23.

ATLANTIC CITY – The Historic Organ Restoration Committee will be offering lasting holiday memories Monday, Dec. 5 through Friday, Dec. 23 with free noontime recitals at Jim Whelan Historic Boardwalk Hall.

Wednesdays are even more memorable with the two-hour Curator’s Tour being offered at 10 a.m. in the lobby. The tour will bring visitors through Boardwalk Hall where they will learn about the history and architecture of the meeting hall, a National Landmark that is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Visitors will be guided through two of the large organ chambers and get up close to the seven-manual console that the organist uses to control the instrument to create an incredible musical experience. The tour includes a visit to the restoration shop to meet the members of the Historical Organ Restoration Committee team and the dedicated volunteers to learn more about the amazing restoration project.

Donation for the Curator’s Tour is $10. For more information and to register for the Curator’s Tour (space is limited), visit www.boardwalkorgans.org or call 609-402-9584 ext. 700. The tour is immediately followed by the free noon recital. The last Curator’s Tour of 2022 is Dec. 28.

The pipe organs of Boardwalk Hall include the massive 33,112-pipe Midmer-Losh, the world’s largest musical instrument, and the beautiful W. W. Kimball organ.
