VENTNOR – Applications for the New Jersey League of Municipalities Louis Bay 2nd Future Scholarship competition for high school juniors and seniors are available on the city’s website.

The statewide competition offers three $1,000 scholarships for winning entries based on the theme, “What my municipal government does best.” The competition is designed to advance the virtues of elected officials and volunteers of municipal government and encourage future municipal leaders.

Applicants are required to submit the application and a 500-word essay based on the the theme. Essays will be judged based on appropriateness of the theme, effective articulation, originality, composition, spelling and syntax.

The deadline to apply for three $1,000 scholarships is March 10.
