PHILLIPSBURG – Ocean Wind Pro-NJ Grantor Trust Aug. 1 announced two new trustees to serve on the independent fund’s Board of Trustees. Brian K. Jackson of Galloway Township, chief operating officer of Stockton University Atlantic City campus, and Philip Brillant of Toms River, founder of Brilliant Environmental Services, LLC, will further the goals of the trust to support upstart offshore wind companies and fund coastal resiliency projects in Ocean, Atlantic and Cape May counties.

Jackson and Brilliant will review and select recipients of the trust’s second round of funding for small, women-owned and minority businesses, and future rounds of funding for businesses and coastal resiliency projects.

“Brian and Philip bring with them equally impressive backgrounds, experience and expertise, including time as small business owners. Brian’s intimate knowledge of the local community and Phil’s technical knowledge will undoubtedly benefit the trust as well as our previous and future grant recipients,” trust Chairwoman Beverly McCall said.

To date, the trust has awarded nearly $450,000 to six small, women- and minority-owned businesses, and $2.8 million for resiliency project in local communities.

In the Downbeach area, Ventnor received $546,003 to replace 500 linear feet of failing bulkhead; Margate received $446,880 to construct a new stormwater pump station at Adams and Amherst avenues; and Longport received $368,750 to replace and upgrade stormwater infrastructure along Winchester Avenue.
