Boo Fest has been postponed until Oct. 27.

MARGATE – Friday’s BooFest celebration planned by the Margate Education Foundation has been postponed due to the forecast of rain.

The event will be held next Friday night in conjunction with the Trunk or Treat event being held at the Eugene A. Tighe Middle School.

The Margate City Police Department will provide extra security and will close a portion of Amherst Avenue to ensure trick or treaters can attend both events safely.

Boo Fest will be held 4-7 p.m. at the Sigmund Rimm Recreation Complex baseball field, and include fun games, prizes, hayrides, pumpkin patch, food, and live music and dancing.

The event includes the annual Monster Mile, with prizes for first, second and third place winners. Step off for children in grades K-2 is 4:15 p.m., grades 3-5 at 4:30 p.m. and grades 6-8 at 4:45 p.m.

Entrance fee, which includes the costumed foot race, is $10, children under age 4 are free. There is a $50 maximum per family. Tickets for the dunk tank are $1, or $5 for six dunks.

The Margate City Police Department, Education Foundation and Mothers Association will present their second annual family fun Trunk or Treat & Tighe School Haunted Hallway 6-8 p.m. at the rear of the Tighe School.

The event includes fun and safe activities, treats, and a DJ spinning the Halloween hits. Leslie’s Dance Studio dancers will put on their annual Halloween pageant.

Entry fee for Trunk or Treat is the donation of a gently used winter coat for distribution to those in need. The entry fee for the Haunted Hallway is $5 at the door for PreK-4th graders and their guardians.

Ventnor City Special Events will host its second annual Halloween Fest 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the beachfront park on Newport Avenue.

The event includes a costume parade, live music, crafters, pumpkin patch and food trucks.

Trick or treating hours in both communities is 6-8 p.m. on Hallowee, Oct. 31.
