TRENTON – NJ Sen. Vince Polistina (R-2) introduced legislation to suspend tolls for motorists diverted to the Atlantic City Expressway when U.S. Route 40 is closed.

“This bill would provide financial relief for motorists who must use the Atlantic City Expressway when U.S. Route 40 is closed,” Polistina said. “By suspending toll collections east of the Garden State Parkway, motorists diverted by floods or closures can efficiently travel from Atlantic City to Pleasantville with ease and financial peace of mind.”

S-2780 would require the South Jersey Transportation Authority to automatically suspend toll collections on the Atlantic City Expressway when U.S. Route 40 is closed east of the Garden State Parkway.

Assembly members Don Guardian and Claire Swift (R-2)have also introduced this legislation in the Assembly.
