LONGPORT – The Board of Commissioners Feb. 21 set the hours and dates for barbequing and picnicing on the beach during the 2024 summer season.
Picnicing and barbequing will be permitted on the beach 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on holiday weekends.
The dates are: Memorial Day weekend, Saturday through Monday, May 25-27; Independence Day weekend, Thursday through Sunday, July 4-7; and Labor Day weekend, Saturday through Monday, Aug. 31-Sept. 2.
Only charcoal grills 36 inches or smaller will be permitted. All coals must be extinguished with water, wrapped in aluminum foil and placed next to the trash receptacles at beach entrances.
Trash and other debris must be placed in the trash and recycling receptacles. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
