Absecon Lighthouse will be open for tours during spring break.

ATLANTIC CITY – Labor Day marks the “unofficial” end of summer, but the action in Atlantic City, including free concerts, fireworks and parades and more will continue through September. All activities are free.


DO free concerts at Kennedy Plaza in front of Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall:

Sunday, Sept. 1, 8 p.m. – Hildy & The Preptones

Tuesday, Sept. 3, 8 p.m. – Separate Ways, a Journey tribute band

Wednesday, Sept. 4,  7 p.m. Cowsill’s Band and the Billy Walton Band

Friday, Sept. 6, 8 p.m. – Five Times Famous

Saturday, Sept. 7, 8 p.m. – Lima Bean Riot

Sunday, Sept. 8, 8 p.m. – Triple Rail Run


DO a parade:

Saturday, Sept. 7, 5 p.m. – Hard Rock Hotel & Casino presents the “Celebrate America Parade,” 90 minutes of balloons, floats, bands, cultural groups and more, march to honor America’s finest. Former Miss America Suzette Charles will be the grand marshal and other state pageant winners will be in the parade. The parade starts at Metropolitan Avenue. Spectators encouraged to waive the American flag.


DO fireworks:

Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 p.m. – Free fireworks display by Grucci at Tropicana Atlantic City.


DO a festival:

Sunday, Sept. 22, noon – Atlantic City Latino Festival at Bader Field. Live music, family fun, health and wellness checks and more.


DO a lighthouse:

Saturday, Sept. 28, noon – Absecon Lighthouse’s first ever Pumpkin Patch event. Fun activities for the whole family. Get a free pumpkin, one per household with proof of residency. Check out the exhibits and tour the Keeper’s Cottage.


DO the Atlantic City Experience:

Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – View the Atlantic City Experience exhibit at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. Curated by the Atlantic City Free Public Library, the exhibit provides an interactive timeline with movable partitions and a mini-theater with video clips of Atlantic City’s rich history.


DO The Organ:

Monday through Friday, noon – Experience the world’s largest pipe organ at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. Take a tour and hear a recital of the Midmer-Losh organ built between 1929 and 2932.


DO Dante Hall:

Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. – Improv Comedy Workshops by Unity’s Theater Group. Flex your funny bone, improve your self-confidence, and build better communication skills while exploring your own creativity.

Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m. – Learn the art of acting in the Art of Doing Workshop, presented by the Atlantic City Theater Company.


DO the murals:

DO the beach and Boardwalk:

Put your toes in the warm sand and  enjoy the ocean breeze. Handicapped access ramps allow everyone to enjoy the beach. Stroll the Boardwalk and enjoy the shops, food and fun. Take a ride on a rolling chair.
