LONGPORT – Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Herb Stern Longport Scholarship Fund has extended its deadline for submitting applications to Friday, May 1.

​However, applications may no longer be submitted to Borough Hall. Paper applications may still be delivered to the mailbox at 16 S. 33rd Ave., Longport, or email applications to

Longport students who are graduating high school this year or who are currently in college are eligible to apply. The fund will award $17,500 in scholarships this year.

​Last year’s recipients were Raquel and Sophia Grisham, Ethan, Owen and Wyatt Kramer, Christian and Kallisa Kuhn, Georgina McGuckin, Michael O’Leary, Thomas Rafter, Tanner Tomassi, Nalu Tripician and Natalie Viso.
