Every vote counts.

For residents interested in participating in the July 7 primary election, there’s still time to register to vote.

“The voter registration deadline for the 2020 primary election is Tuesday, June 16,” stated Maureen Bugdon, Atlantic County Superintendent of Elections and Commissioner of Registration.  “We encourage county residents to register. Our office team is available during extended hours most days, but specifically, we will offer late night registration until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16.  A secure drop box is also available right at the door in consideration of COVID-19.”

She urged anyone with questions to contact the office at 609-645-5882. The office of the Superintendent of Elections is located at 5920 Main St. in Mays Landing just across from the Historic County Courthouse.

According to Bugdon, voter registration is also available through local municipal offices, the U.S. Armed Forces recruitment facilities, New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission and county welfare agencies. Residents are advised to contact these agencies directly to confirm their accessibility due to the pandemic.

Finally, if you are already a registered voter, watch your mailbox for important election materials, whether in the way of a Vote-by-Mail Ballot, an application for a Vote-by-Mail Ballot or a postcard indicating your polling location for this election. Machine voting is not available to the masses for the July 7 Primary, but you can vote by provisional (paper) ballot at these sites. An accessible voting device will be made available to disabled voters who cannot vote a paper ballot.
