The Arc of Atlantic County’s Director of Development Mary Ruley Moyer points out one of the Change for Change boxes located on the casino floor at Ocean Casino Resort, which has contributed more than $9,000 in donations in 2021 to support local people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Atlantic County.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The Arc of Atlantic County recently received a donation from the Ocean Casino Resort’s Change for Change initiative, which allows guests to donate small credits from their winnings to benefit four local charities. Ocean Casino Resort team members also contribute through internal fundraising efforts and payroll deduction.

“The Arc of Atlantic County is delighted to learn of the generous donations made by Ocean Casino Resort guests and team members,” The Arc Director of Development and Community Outreach Mary Ruley Moyer said. “Finding a solution to redirect unused play credits to help local non-profit agencies is a win for everyone.”

Ocean Casino Resort came up with an idea to use unused credits to benefit local charities. When casino guests At Ocean Casino Resort play slots or table games, they are sometimes left with a small credit from their winnings. Guests can choose to cash in those credits or donate them at the end of their play. Drop boxes are located on the casino floor, where guests can deposit their unused credits to benefit local charities.

“Ocean is proud to support The Arc of Atlantic County in its mission to assist Atlantic County residents and their families with services for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through the Change for Change program, as well as fundraising initiatives held by Ocean’s team members in direct support of Ocean Cares, we were able to make donations to The Arc totaling $9,000 to date.” Ocean Chief Executive Officer Terry Glebocki said in statement

The Arc of Atlantic County has served people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families for the last 60 years through residential services, job training, recreational activities, case management, family support services and other programs. The Arc currently supports more than 1,000 people with disabilities and their families throughout Southern New Jersey.

“At The Arc of Atlantic County, we believe our community is strongest when all people, including those with IDD, are included as engaged participants. We are grateful that Ocean Casino Resort recognizes the value that people with disabilities bring to our community and are pleased to be selected as a Change for Change partner in 2021,“ The Arc CEO Scott Hennis said.
