Old Glory

MARGATE – The city’s Historical Society will present a special program focusing on the history of the American flag 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23 at Historic City Hall, 1 S. Washington Ave.

Kevin Woyce will explore the history of “Old Glory” in song and story from its origin during the American Revolution to the addition of its 50th star in 1960. Woyce will also discuss how a poem set to a popular melody became the United States’ national anthem.

The program is free and the public is invited to attend. Masks are optional for the vaccinated; mandatory for the unvaccinated.
