The next ACUA Garden Talk is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Atlantic County and the Atlantic County Utilities Authority will host its next free Garden Talks event 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16.  The meeting will provide relevant information on what is happening in the garden at this time of year and help home gardeners to prepare for garden success.

The meeting will focus on starting a fall garden. Gardeners will learn how to get a second chance to grow veggies that thrive in the late summer and fall. Fall gardening requires the proper selection of crops and an understanding of the timing for planting specific seeds or plants to insure a second crop of healthy, homegrown food through the fall.

Gardeners of all skill-levels are invited to attend and bring questions about their own garden. There is always time for Q & A at the end.

Meetings have been offered as a combination of virtual and in-person with COVID-19 precautions, and advanced registration is suggested at www.acua.com/garden.

The Aug.16 meeting is planned as an in-person meeting and will be held outdoors weather permitting in the Geo Garden at ACUA’s Environmental Park, 6700 Delilah Road, Egg Harbor Township.

Other upcoming Garden Talk topics are listed below:
Sept. 20 – Holiday Cactus
Oct. 18 – Closing Down Your Garden
Nov. 15 – Houseplants
Dec. 20 – Starting a Garden Journal for 2022

All classes begin at 6 p.m.
