Shalom House Ventnor

VENTNOR – Seniors at the Shalom House in the Ventnor West area will be holding an indoor yardsale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 24 in the Community Room at the Shalom House, 7301 Marshall Ave.

“We’re so happy to be getting back to normal,” said resident Myrna Aiscowitz. “We did this a few years ago before COVID, and it’s nice to be able to do it again. We wanted it to be held indoors so we are not weather dependent, especially if it’s too hot for our seniors.”

Aiscowitz said about a dozen seniors have signed up to participate so far and more may come onboard in the next few days.

“There is no clothing, but we’ll have lots of household and decorative items,” she said.

The sale is open to the public, and parking is available on the Swarthmore Avenue side of the building. Aiscowitz said shoppers should not park in the Shalom House parking lot, however.

Table charges paid by the sellers will be put to good use by the Shalom House Residents Council, which provides social activities that keep the seniors active, Aiscowitz said.
